Private label is most efficient when formulation and packaging decisions happen in the right order. A carton design cannot fix an undefined formula, and a good sample cannot guarantee commercial repeatability without an agreed specification.
1. Build the Brief
Define destination market, channel, consumer, hero benefit, format, target cost, quantity and launch date.
2. Select the Development Route
Choose a reference formula, light customization or full ODM route. Greater customization generally adds sample rounds, component decisions and verification work.
3. Evaluate the Sample
Review appearance, reconstitution, odor, color, packaging fit and protocol. Record requested changes clearly.
4. Freeze the Specification
Confirm formula, fill, components, artwork, quality criteria, documents and change-control expectations before commercial production.
5. Produce and Dispatch
Coordinate production release, QC review, packing, shipment documents and destination logistics.
